10 years ago I went through the biggest storm of my life. I felt too young to be sick, but 6 months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy proved me wrong.
This storm taught me a lot. Although I was initially reluctant to accept it, it changed me in all the unexpected good ways.
I learned not to take the moment for granted.
I learned that we should respect boundaries but also appreciate what we are given.
I learned that we need to take better care of ourselves at all levels of health.
I realized that the people who stood by me were some of my greatest assets.
You know who you are, I love you all. ❤️
It was one of those December days when the storm passed and I had to learn what kind of person I was after it – or, more importantly, become that person.
It takes time to become wiser. It’s one of those times when time counts in our favor.
Use it responsibly, never take it for granted.
Embrace change, it gives us hope and reminds us that we have the privilege of being alive.
Live this life as if it were the ultimate gift you didn’t expect.
10 years later, I’m still striving for the best.
